Bomb Threat Call: A SpiceJet reservation office received a call today about a bomb in the aircraft operating flight SG 8496 from Darbhanga to Delhi. According to news agency ANI, a spokesperson said that the flight landed safely at Delhi airport at 6 p.m. and the aircraft was moved to an isolated bay. It also added that the passengers have been deplaned safely and the aircraft is undergoing a thorough search by security agencies.
“A call was received at the SpiceJet reservation office about a bomb in the aircraft operating flight SG 8496 from Darbhanga to Delhi. The flight landed safely at Delhi airport at 6pm and the aircraft was moved to an isolated bay,” an airline spokesperson said in a statement.

According to news agency PTI, citing sources, a full emergency for the aircraft was declared at the airport in the evening. There were around 210 passengers onboard the aircraft, the source added.
Meanwhile, a Delhi Police officer said that an inquiry was conducted and it was found that the threat was bogus. The aircraft is undergoing a search by the security agencies.
“During the enquiry, the call was found to be a hoax. However necessary safety protocols were followed keeping in view the security of passengers,” DCP airport said.
